Hello Guides.

Sec ones and threes,
we hope you had fun during yesterday's campsite cleaning, and good job :)

Now that exams are over, it's time for all our post-exam activities!
There are many lined up for you, so do look forward to them :)

We'll be having our day camp next week, please take note of the following details.

Day Camp 2009:
Date/Time : 26th to 29th October, 2-5pm

Venue: Field, outside CCA rooms

Attire:
Sec 1s and 2s:
1st day- Guides Tee with trackpants
2nd day- PE Tee with trackpants
3rd day- PE Tee with trackpants
4th day- Guides Tee with trackpants

Sec 3s:
1st day- House Tee with trackpants
2nd day- Guides Tee with trackpants
3rd day- House Tee with trackpants
4th day- Farewell Tee with trackpants

These are the activities that will be carried out during these four days:

• Footdrills
• PT and Games
• Tent Pitching
• Outdoor Cooking
• Box Oven (Sec 1s)
• Pioneering (sec 2s)
  - Axemanship
  - Emergency Shelter
  - Rope Ladder
  - Orienteering (Sec 1s and 2s)

We will be dismissed at 12.45 on Monday, and at 1.45 from Tuesday to Thursday.
Assemble at the stage area by 2pm sharp with your bags and belongings.
Take your lunch before day camp, lunch will not be provided, except during outdoor cooking.
Do have a heavy recess and lunch, you'll need energy for day camp.

Things to bring:

7. Back of foolscap paper (Hardcover)
8. Scotch Tape
9. Plasticine
10. Specs Hook & Hair Accessories
11. Poncho (army green)

Remember to read up your handbooks, and come prepared.

Remember to make minimal noise when doing all the activities as the O-levels will be going on at the same time. Also, keep away from the hall as much as possible during that period.

Be prepared for tests in between, and do your best!

EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO PERAK, THE LAND OF GRACE

DAY 1 – SINGAPORE – IPOH PERAK (LUNCH / DINNER)

0630hrs Assemble at Cedar Girls’ Secondary
0645hrs Depart from school and start of journey
0845hrs After custom clearance heading to Perak
1230hrs Lunch will be provided enroute
1600hrs Arrival at Ipoh Town, commencement of educational tours of Ipoh inclusive of famous Kellie’s Castle
1930hrs Dinner will be served at local restaurant
2100hrs Check into Ipoh Hotel
2145hrs De-briefing session will be arranged

DAY 2 – GOPENG ADVENTURE DAY (BREAKFAST / LUNCH / DINNER)

0730hrs Breakfast in the hotel
0845hrs Check out from Ipoh hotel. Depart to lodge area.
1000hrs Arrive lodge area. Briefing by rangers. White Water Rafting commences.
Covering the distance of 12 km with 9 big rapids along the way. White water
rafting journey takes around 1 ½ - 2 hours.
1200hrs Upon arrival at the ending point, Kg. Jahang. Light meal is served with. Proceed to
Ulu Geruntum Waterfall. Arrive at waterfall area, safety briefing by RIVERBUG guide. Waterfall abseiling with the height of 15 meters begins.
1700hrs Transfer back to lodge area. Free at leisure.
1900hrs Dinner.
2030hrs Night games starts.
2200hrs Overnight at lodge.

DAY 3 – GOPENG – KUALA SEPETANG – TAIPING (BREAKFAST / LUNCH / DINNER)

0700hrs Morning call.
0745hrs Breakfast
0845hrs Depart to famous Gua Tempurung for caving exploration for 2 hours.
1130hrs Lunch to be provided
1230hrs Depart to Kuala Sepetang for Mangrove Nature Walk & Matang Charcoal Factory Tour (transformation of bakau wood into charcoal firewood)
1730hrs Depart to Taiping Town – a town of many firsts
1900hrs Dinner to be provided at local restaurant
2030hrs Check into hotel
2130hrs De-briefing session will be arranged

DAY 4 –TAIPING – SINGAPORE (BREAKFAST / LUNCH)

0700hrs Morning call.
0745hrs Breakfast in the hotel
0830hrs Commencement of short educational Taiping Tour inclusive of old British
Residence Area and Taiping Lake
0900hrs Special visit to Perak State Museum Taiping
0945hrs Depart to Singapore
